the instruments which produce sound by setting the strings into vibration through friction when a bow is pulled across the strings. Examples: huqin, erhu, and so on. 拉弦樂器:指那些靠琴弓和琴弦互相磨擦而發聲的樂器。如各種的胡琴等。	the instruments which produce sound by relying on the performers to stir up the vibration of a column of air. Examples: vertical flute, bamboo flute, and so on. 吹管樂器:即那些靠演奏者氣息震動樂器管體內的空氣柱而發音的樂器。如洞簫,竹笛等。	the instruments which produce sound by setting the strings into vibration either through plucking with fingers or striking with specially designed device such as a Qin bamboo or plectrum. Examples: pipa, yueqin, yangqin, zither, shamisen, and so on. 彈撥樂器:即那些以手指彈撥,或以特製的樂器配件(如琴竹,撥子)擊打弦線而發聲的樂器。如琵琶,月琴,揚琴,古箏,三弦琴等。	the instruments which produce sound by striking the surface area either with a hand or with a specially designed device such as a drum hammer. Examples: gong, drum, cymbal, bell, and so on. 打擊樂器:(或稱「敲擊樂器」),就是那些以手或硬物(如鼓槌)擊打樂器表面而發聲的樂器。如鑼,鼓,鈸,鐘等。
